Joe Burgett
I’m not a lifelong politician. I'm just a regular person who cares about our community and wants to make a difference. My career began in construction as a general contractor, and I now serve as a professor at Clemson University, teaching construction management. Over the years, I’ve worked closely with entrepreneurs, large companies, and state agencies to make projects safer, faster and at lower cost. I have a long history of using technology to solve practical problems and make systems work better. My entire career has focused on building smarter and helping people find innovative solutions. That is the same mindset I want to bring to Columbia.
I’m running because I want to prioritize what really matters for everyday people. That starts with better roads, so families and businesses can move safely and efficiently. It means investing in our schools, so every child has the opportunity to succeed. And it requires transparency in government, so taxpayers know how their money is spent and can hold elected officials accountable.
As a longtime foster dad of nearly ten years, I’ve seen firsthand how innocent kids fall through the cracks when systems don't work. Those experiences have reinforced my belief that character really matters. Protecting the most vulnerable isn’t just a calling—it’s a measure of who we are as a community.
I’m so grateful to call South Carolina home. We have incredible people, strong communities, and so much opportunity ahead. I’m excited to do my part to help our state reach its full potential.
I would be honored to have your vote this June in the Republican primary.—Thank you,
